Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how VMG ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our internal marketing automation tooling, including our use of the Google Ads API.

1. Who We Are

VMG is a marketing agency that manages Google Ads campaigns and related marketing services on behalf of our clients. We operate internal software tools to support this work, including tools that connect to the Google Ads API.

2. Information We Access

Through our use of the Google Ads API, our tools may access:

This access is limited to Google Ads accounts that have been explicitly linked to VMG's Google Ads Manager account by the account owner, with their knowledge and authorization.

3. How We Use This Information

Data accessed through the Google Ads API is used solely to manage, monitor, and optimize advertising campaigns on behalf of the client to whom the account belongs. This includes budget pacing, monitoring for ad disapprovals, keyword management, and performance reporting back to that same client.

We do not sell client data, and we do not use one client's advertising data to benefit any other client.

4. Data Storage & Security

API credentials (developer tokens, OAuth credentials, refresh tokens) are stored as environment variables on our backend infrastructure and are never hardcoded into shared code or documentation. Access to these credentials is restricted to VMG's internal team.

5. Compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy

VMG's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through the Google Ads API is used only to provide the campaign management and reporting features described in this Privacy Policy and in our API Overview documentation. This data is never used to train machine learning or AI models of any kind, and is never sold, rented, or shared with third-party data brokers or advertising networks.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share Google Ads account data with third parties, except as required to provide our services to the client that owns the account (for example, reporting results back to that client) or as required by law.

7. Data Retention

Performance and reporting data is retained only as long as necessary to provide ongoing campaign management and reporting to the relevant client, or until the client's account is unlinked from our Manager account, whichever comes first.

8. Your Rights

Clients may request that their Google Ads account be unlinked from our Manager account at any time, which immediately ends our access to their account data through the API.
